After a rough Thursday night vs. Glencoe our team rebounded in a strong way by taking first at our 11 team tournament(2 guys per team into individual brackets)! Thanks to everyone that helped in our hospitality room and concession stand. I can't thank you enough. Here are the results for the 18 team, 2-day Cleveland Tournament held Jan. 4th and 5th. Our team finished in 5th place on Friday night. We climbed to 4th for a short time on Saturday, but didn't wrestle as well as we would have liked in the closing few rounds, finishing in 7th place.

Congrats to Matthew McRae for winning the tournament! Being a champ at such a large tournament is a huge accomplishment. He is currently 24-1 on the season. Congrats as well to the following other placers:

Thursday Dec. 20th vs. Forest Grove at Southridge Southridge 52, Forest Grove 24

Friday and Saturday Dec. 28th and 29th at Northwest Duals Our team won 3 duals and lost 5 (out of the 5 lost, 3 of them weren't decided until the final match). We didn't quite have our full line-up and for the last two duals didn't have a 160 pounder due to an injury.

Overall, we did pretty well. I would have liked to have seen our team win at least 1 or two of the 3 close duals,especially since we lost to my alma mater West Albany by only 2 points and Newberg and Tualatin by only one match . We also need to continue to be more aggressive and get in better shape, which we will obviously keep focusing on. Our current varsity record is now 10-6
